2 dead in house fire near Lake Nicol in Tuscaloosa County

Tuscaloosa County Al: According to AL.Com - Two sets of human remains have been found at the scene of a house fire in Tuscaloosa County, investigators said Wednesday afternoon.


Captain Gary Hood, the commander of the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit, said police were called to the 3800 block of Nicol Park Road when volunteer firefighters discovered remains after extinguishing a house fire there.


Hood said the remains of two people have been discovered and removed from the scene.


Neither the identities of the victims have nor the cause of the fire has been confirmed at this time.


The bodies have been sent to the Alabama Forensic Science Department in Montgomery for identification.
