On Tuesday, April 19, 2016 the Houston County Volunteer Firefighter Association named their 2015 Firefighter of the Year. The award was given to Chief Wanda Andress of the Wicksburg Volunteer Fire Rescue Department. Chief Andress has been an active member of her department for over twenty years. Over the years she has served department in many capacities rising through the ranks to Chief. Wanda is a Certified Firefighter, Emergency Medical Technician-Basic, and Hazardous Material Response Technician. She is a dedicated Wife, Mother, and School Teacher as well as Chief. She was nominated by her department for her endless hours of dedication to the department and the Wicksburg Community. Congratulations to Chief Wanda Andress for being named the 2015 Houston County Volunteer Firefighter Association Firefighter Of the Year.
