HOUSTON COUNTY: 2:30 PM. Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched "man down" call, grounds keeper found on ground next to lawnmower, Dothan National, Highway 231 South.
Call was updated to foot possibly caught under lawnmower.
As arrived the pro shop was unaware Of the call. The location was then upgraded to hole number 3.
Houston County Sheriff Deputies, Alabama State Trooper and Rehobeth Rescue member then took off through the golf course to locate the injured.
Then the information changed the injured was back at the shop. So emergency responders turned around on the golf course and headed to the shop back up front.
Then the information was again changed, no, he is at hole number 3.
So the emergency responders started back to hole 3.
Then, the subject had left on his personal vehicle driving himself to the hospital. He had minor cut that would possibly require 8 stitches.
Patient not found.
Now, have you ever been driving through golf course attempting to dodge golfers and golf balls?
Have you ever played golf, trying to concentrate on your shot with three Sheriff Deputies, an Alabama State Trooper, Rehobeth Rescue and a white pickup running through the golf course?
Glad the call turned out to be minor. But the first call, help leaped into action to save a life. The initial call dispatched ( received through 911 ) sounded much worse then it was.
