MARIANNA, FL - The air has turned crisp, tree leaves are beginning their transformation to autumn colors and people from throughout the Florida Panhandle will converge at Sunland Center this weekend for the 36th Annual Sunland Fall Festival.  The annual festival always takes place the last Saturday of October, and is held in the scenic Sunland Environmental Park.  Activities will begin with a huge kick-off parade at 9:00 am, with festivities concluding around 3:00 pm.  Sunland is located on Highway 71 north of Marianna.  In addition to a parade, the festival features a multitude of activities for all ages.  Numerous vendors are on hand with a variety of items for sale, including a wide variety of tantalizing food vendors to make sure no one leaves hungry!

A host of fun-filled events will include musical entertainment on three different stages located throughout the Park, a haunted house, old fashion cane grinding, horse drawn wagon rides, pony rides and face painting.  Activities will be on going throughout the day that will be fun filled for both the young and old.  Goblins and ghosts will be lurking at the haunted house, waiting to offer a “friendly fright” to unsuspecting visitors.  Returning this year will be “Funland” featuring a host of activities for kids of all ages. The lineup of activities features a mechanical bull, zip line, climbing maze, multiple inflatable jump houses, train ride, Spider Mountain, Wipe Out and the Wrecking Ball. An abundance of snacks will be available at the “Funland Snack Tent” which will offer an assortment of carnival fare to include cotton candy, sno-cones, popcorn, nachos and cheese, dill pickles and a variety of refreshing drinks.

Sunland residents and staff look forward to sharing this day with families and friends from the local and surrounding communities.  After the long hot days of summer, this is the perfect occasion to enjoy the cool, crisp country air. Please join us for the 2014 Fall Festival as we celebrate Fall in the scenic Sunland Environmental Park!   You don’t want to miss it!
