4:55 PM. Five Car Accident Highway 231 North And Redmond Road

DOTHAN:   4:55 PM.   It might be a short road but there has been wrecks on both ends today.

At 4:33 PM Dothan 911 dispatched Dothan Fire, Dothan Police and two Pilcher Ambulance units to a 5 car accident on Montgomery Highway and Redmond Road.

All 5 vehicles were traveling south on the inside lane. The last vehicle going forward - a Ford Explorer strikes a pickup that strikes a car that strikes a SUV that strikes a car.

Dothan Fire checked all 5 cars and occupants and none required medical treatment. Both ambulances were cancelled.

Just a note:  this wreck at 4:33 PM which required two ambulances to respond, 4:38 PM a medical emergency requiring fire and ambulance response on the Northside off Montgomery Highway, 4:44 PM a motor vehicle with injuries on East Selma Street at BP requiring police, fire and ambulance, 4:45 PM medical emergency requiring fire and ambulance on Zigler  Street, 5:04 PM medical emergency at Grand Villa on Third Avenue requiring fire and ambulance.

Within this 31 minutes 5 emergency runs for Dothan Fire, Dothan Police and 6 emergency ambulance response for Pilcher’s. And you can only imagine how Dothan Police 911 Center was slammed in the 31 minutes. And it all flowed smooth and you would have never realized it by listening to the radio and seeing the response.

I would be wrong not to also point out - HOUSTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS - all of this managed by local Dothan - Houston County people. In fact one of the Dothan Fire Acting Batallion Chief’s working ( that is one of the two on duty  who commands all Dothan Fire units and incidents ) was not good enough to even get a interview for Dothan - Houston County Emergency Management Director. Five of your 6 choices for interviews do not even live near Dothan - Houston County.

Before I could finish this article, 5:12 PM, Dothan Fire responding to Taylor to meet Slocomb Rescue who is transporting a patient where advanced life support assistance is needed.
