5 shot, killed in east Georgia community

Authorities confirm five people were shot and killed Friday night in Appling, Georgia, a community in Columbia County.
The victims were shot in two locations. Columbia County authorities believe the scenes are connected.
Columbia County Coroner Vernon Collins told AL.com three of the victims were shot at a home on Johnson Road. He said a male and female, both in their 60s, were pronounced dead at the scene close to 9:20 p.m.
Another female victim from that location was pronounced dead shortly after at an Augusta hospital. Collins said she was in her 30s.
