We have received reports that the Peanut Mill in Headland is on fire.  Multiple units are responding from Headland, Dothan, Kinsey and Newville.  Rickey and Penny Jones are in route and  will update as soon as more is available. 

Penny is reporting that it is Golden Peanut Mill near the middle school in Headland.

8:26 Update  Reports are flames are coming out of the roof.

Reports are the fire is in the two ovens and they feel they have it contained.  There is heavy smoke.

Updated 8:33 I have uploaded a picture sent to Rickey from the scene.

8:42 UPDATE From Rickey: Dothan Fire Captian David Hasty is the Dothan Batillion Chief on the scene.  He reports it is a defensive fire only and they are having problems accessing the fire and the sky around the area is lit up.

The fireman will be on the scene for an extended period of time. Several fire departments are on the scene. Smoke is visible and coming from the top of the building. Reports are the fire is in the cooker units.

Headland Police Department, Henry County Sheriff Deputies and Alabama State Troopers are on the scene assisting.
