DOTHAN POST – A three-vehicle crash at 1:40 p.m. today, Dec. 14, claimed the life of a Dozier man and injured two others. Willie Ray Slawson, 81, was killed when the 1996 Ford Taurus he was driving collided with a 2010 Hyundai Sonata driven by Sandra Kaye Moody, 67, of Dozier. After colliding with Moody’s vehicle, Slawson’s Taurus then struck a 1998 Dodge Ram driven by 47-year-old Michael Luciano of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. Slawson, who was not using a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene by Crenshaw County Coroner Ronnie Turner. Moody, and the passenger in her car, were transported to Andalusia Regional Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Luciano was not injured. The crash occurred on U.S. 29 at the 61.1 mile marker, one mile south of Dozier. Nothing further is available as ALEA State Troopers continue to investigate.
