Abbeville Is Home To Richest Man In Alabama

It appears someone new holds the title of Alabama's richest person.
According to the just-released Forbes magazine listing, Jimmy Rane, founder of lumber business Great Southern Wood and best known as the "Yella Fella" in his popular ads, is the wealthiest person in the state. Forbes had previously said that title holder was Garry Drummond, heir to the Drummond Co. fortune. Drummond assumed that title in 2015 on the death of billionaire Marguerite Harbert.
