ABBEVILLE: Abbeville - Henry County Task Force arrested a Abbeville on multiple sex crimes.
Arrested and booked in the Henry County Jail is William Joseph Starling. Born in 1983, Starling has been arrested on 12 counts to include Rape in the 1st Degree, Rape in the 2nd Degree, sodomy in the 1st and 2nd degree, sexual abuse of a child and sexual abuse.
Starling was carried before Henry County District Court Judge Derek Peterson for his initial appearance today. Judge Peterson has sent Bonds in the total amount of $1,650,000 .00.
One of the victims became pregnant at age 13 and at age 14 had a child.
This case is primarily being investigated by Abbeville Police and by the task force. Additional investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected.
On his first day of work, Abbeville Police Chief Noel Vanlandingham and investigators from the police department are conducting this investigation. Chief Vanlandingham will issue a press release after the investigation has been completed.
