ABBEVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RAIDS HOME OUTSIDE COUNTY - WHAT???

CLIO – Residents described what looked like a military operation on their quiet street. Cops dressed in military SWAT gear, yelling and threatening women and children, and pointing shotguns and M16 type rifles at them.

One man Carroll spoke to who was an older gentleman and did not want his name revealed (he was fearful of retribution), but had served time on the city council shared how he reacted,

“I put my shotgun dead-on them boys, I been here 70 plus years and I didn’t recognize not one face and I know everyone in the county, so I assumed they were here to rob our neighbor and weren’t really cops.”

The young Abbeville officer never knew the man had his gun loaded with triple-aught buckshot pointed at the back of his head and was about to lose his life, until the man’s wife recognized one of them and said- hold up them boys is from Abbeville. He told me, to this day “no one can explain to us why the Abbeville Police were in our town“. “No one wants to believe us and they all think we are nuts and just think I almost killed that boy“.

All of this sounded unbelievable as well to me but coming after an article Rickey Stokes News published about the Abbeville Police department conducting surveillance in southern Houston county and then getting involved in a almost deadly car chase, I decided to dig deeper and see if what these people could be telling me was true. Anyone I asked in Abbeville or Henry county law enforcement had the same type of reply- “Carroll your crazy that’s not even possible as it’s nearly 40 miles out of our jurisdiction.”

But I have learned the past year or so don’t stop asking questions and to follow your instincts when a person in public office denies something, what I found is very interesting. Confidential sources have given me access to secret court documents that appear to be purposely kept out of the public record, do indeed indicate that what the residents of Clio are telling me is true and a joint operation of the Abbeville Police Department and Investigators from the Henry County Sheriff’s department did perform a SWAT like military style raid in Clio Alabama without notifying the Clio Police Department or the Barbour County Sheriff’s Department. It’s also apparent from the individual sharing the information that the police force had no search warrant, only after the assault and when a resident admitted he smoked marijuana did they go to the judge and get one. This is unconstitutional at multiple levels.

One local law enforcement officer shared, “this is not acceptable and in the future will likely get someone hurt or we will arrest them. No excuse for such behavior. It’s just a matter of time before this gets one of them killed”.
