Accidental Shooting Leads to Recovery of Stolen Property

On 01/04/2013 the Headland Police Department responded to the A.B.Cotton Drive area in response to an accidental shooting. While officers were investigating the area of the shooting took place, the officers found in the edge of the backyard and the wooded area several pieces of jewelry. On further investigating officers found a large amount of jewelry in this area. The evidence was recovered and investigation is continuing in reference to burglaries in the areas. Local agencies have been notified of the recovery of the jewelry. This recovery was due to the professional and outstanding work of the officers responding to the scene, and may have solved several burglaries.
