DOTHAN: Are you a new or current business owner with tax questions? Mark your calendar and attend the Alabama Department of Revenue’s free Business Workshop scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, at 3 p.m. or 6 p.m., in Dothan.
The workshop will be held at Troy University at Dothan in the Continuing Education Center located inside Adams Hall on the second floor, 501 University Drive.
ADOR presenters will cover a variety of state tax information topics, including employer withholding taxes, state and local sales taxes, property taxes, and business licensing requirements. An overview of Alabama’s business tax electronic filing programs also will be presented. This is a great opportunity to keep current and future business owners up to date with law changes, and it gives them a chance to ask experts particular questions relating to their business.
Workshop participants will receive information about Alabama’s ONE SPOT, a free Internet filing and payment portal that allows business taxpayers to file and pay state, county, and city sales, use, and rental taxes all in one place. Phillip Marks with the Small Business Development Center-PTAC at the University of North Alabama will also be participating in this workshop.
