ALABAMA:   The Alabama Baptist Convention has passed a resoultion condeming electronic bingo.

In Houston County, based on the number of people who have come forward at commission meetings to speak on electronic bingo, it has not seemed the baptsits have gained much strenght in fighting the issue in regards to Country Crossings.

When pastors have spoken to the commission, the amount of people support has been weak. Witht hat said, not being critical of supportive in any way, I do not know how the majority of the people feel on this issue.

The people who have spent money building the venues and borrowed money and incurred debt to build the venues have advocated letting the voters of Alabama make the decison on electronic bingo.

Those who do not have a financial interest in the debt, like Alabama Governor Bob Riley, has andis fighting an act before the legilsature to allow the people of this state to vote on the issue.

With that said, 2010 legislative session will be one to watch.
