Montgomery, AL … Former Mayor of Philadelphia, Michael Nutter will address the Alabama Democratic Conference (ADC) Annual Convention on Saturday February 13th, 2016, at 12:00 noon at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Montgomery. Nutter, a supporter of Hillary Clinton will speak at the Kennedy-Johnson-King Luncheon. Clinton was endorsed by the ADC in October.
Joe Reed, Chair of Alabama Democratic Conference said that Nutter’s visit is a clear affirmation of the importance the Clinton campaign places on Alabama. He said that this is the first time in a long time Alabama Democrats have been so united behind one candidate. Reed said past and present Democratic elected officials have pledged their support for Hillary Clinton. We are convinced that old and young, students, and teachers, the sick and the well, and all other Alabamians will benefit when she is elected President. Alabama is a poor state; we will need all the help she will give us.
Our goals are simple Reed said, we want to get a majority of Delegates in Philadelphia at the Democratic National Convention: the only thing that matters at the convention is Delegates. The candidate who gets the most votes will lead the Democratic Party to victory in November. We are confident that Hillary Clinton will be nominated.
Other weekend activities planned by ADC include: The screening and endorsing of Democratic Candidates for various public state offices and Delegates to the Democratic National Convention.
