HOUSTON COUNTY: Statement in The Birmingham News from Alabama Governor Bob Riley concerning Birmingham Mayor today…
Gov. Bob Riley said in a prepared statement: "These kind of convictions don't have to happen," he said. "We must finally pass anti-corruption laws that will bring accountability and transparency to state and local governments so we can prevent this very kind of situation."
QUESTION: Governor Bob Riley, does the above statement include your being truthful and honest with the people of this state, to include the people of the wiregrass area? Or is that statement only apply when you are talking about others and not yourself?
What am I talking about?
(1) YOU gave Alabama’s $ 13 million dollars in a no bid contract to a Virginia based corporation that has no phone number and no web site. Apparently NO ONE from Alabama was capable.
finally pass anti-corruption laws? HA?
(2) YOU are reported to have received over $ 2 million of the $ 13 million dollars given by the Indians for your election as Alabama Governor. Your former people who served with you in Washington are in prison or awaiting to be sentenced in this.
finally pass anti-corruption laws? HA?
(3) YOUR son represents the Sheriff in Jefferson County in cases involving the bankruptcy in which YOU are directly involved.
finally pass anti-corruption laws? HA ?
(4) A Houston County press conference is expected on Friday to address THREATS and INTIMIDATION from you towards the people who are to deliver the electronic bongo machines to Country Crossings. Yet, when you have been with the people of Houston County you have bragged about supporting the project.
accountability and transparency? HA ?
Oh…did I say that Governor?
…THREATS and INTIMIDATION trying to stop the project and the delivery of the machines?
Hey BOB, say it ain’t so…have you been threatening them? Answer before you travel on STATE dollars out of the country next week…
Did you do that? Did ya??? Did you threaten and intimidate the machine manufacturers?
Here is the truth ladies and gentleman…Alabama Governor Bob Riley has threatened the manufactures of the electronic machines. If they deliver the machines to Country Crossings. In the Governor’s fight on electronic bingo to stop it in Alabama, the truth of the matter is, he will give the Indians a monopoly and the only venue. This is consistent with the fact they paid Riley’s campaign and demanding he deliver that monopoly before he leaves office.
Alabama Governor Bob Riley has been telling lies to the Republican legislative members that his fight would eliminate machines completely in Alabama, but they are finding out that Riley is being dishonest with them.
Riley has also told members of legislature that he wants NO legislation this session on electronic bingo. This is his last legislative session as Alabama Governor. He will ride his donkey back to where he came from a year from this January.
Recently at a Dothan Commission Meeting, Commissioner Taylor Barbaree said we needed to get commitments from those running for Alabama Governor in 2010 about what they will do for the wiregrass. Mayor Schmitz agreed saying “here – here”.
So far Governor Riley has done one thing for the wiregrass…well two things (1) Went to taco Bell’s house and collected $ 5,000.00 per person who came to see Vice President Dick Chenney (2) Went to Dr. Steve Stokes house and collected a briefcase full of money for his campaign and returned to Montgomery.
I submit to you… Alabama Governor Bob Riley ain’t being truthful and honest with us. And he wants ethics reform…
Hey, Wynn Creek will STILL have electronic bingo regardless...Hey Bob that will make you fulfill your campaign promise to give the Indians the exclusive right to electronic bingo and deny thousands of jobs to people in the wiregrass...
