Dothan, AL (Date Inserted Here) ---- Alabama ranks 5th in the nation for kidney disease, with almost 8,000 Alabamians on dialysis.For more than 35 years, the Alabama Kidney Foundation (AKF) has been the only state based organization dedicated to serving kidney patients.
AKF is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Dothan Walk-a-Thon, taking place at Northview High School on Saturday, April 5th. The morning is full of fun entertainment, children’s activities, cold drinks, healthy snacks, door prizes, and much more! A $30 minimum donation is required for adult registration. Patients and children attend for free. Registration begins at 8:30 am and the Walk will begin at 9:30 am.
The intent of this walk is to increase awareness of kidney disease, inform the public of services currently available, and bring the community together in order to support those affected by kidney disease. Proceeds from this event provide the funds needed for AKF’s financial assistance programs, education initiatives, and support services for kidney patients in Dothan and throughout the state of Alabama.
