Paxton, FL (October 23, 2009) –
On Thursday night, Willie Ray Brooks was driving westbound in a friend’s Ford Ranger pick-up truck on Double Bridge Road outside of Paxton. A Walton County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped the vehicle for having an expired license plate, and not making a complete stop at a stop sign.
It was also determined the Lockhart, Alabama man was driving with a suspended license. During the course of the stop, the 59-year-old man driver told Sheriff’s Deputies that he and his passenger had open containers of beer and whiskey in the truck.
After granting permission to Deputies for doing a search of the vehicle, a pipe and crack cocaine was found under the driver’s seat. Brooks told authorities that the drug was his. He was transported to the Walton County Jail and charged with possession of cocaine, and possession of narcotic equipment.
Brooks bond is set at five thousand dollars.
