Trooper Tom Norman learned first-grader Libby Clair, who attends Providence Christian Academy in Dothan, is undergoing radiation treatment for cancer. The Trooper arranged to present her with a Trooper Teddy Bear from the Alabama State Trooper Association, "as a token of our love and concern."
(Pictured with Libby are, from left: Troopers Chad Bright, James Willliams and Tom Norman.)
His supervisor, Sgt. Samuel Pickett, wrote Trooper Norman the following:
"Thanks for taking an opportunity to encourage little Ms. Libby. I know through your efforts you shined a little light of Love for a little girl going through such a difficult time. Compassion and caring is a trait we never should let go of. We all entered this profession to help people. Thanks again, I pray we all are reminded that the platform God has given us through our position is used to serve and encourage others. I am sure the family and the other children will never forget the 3 State Troopers that showed up for just her!! You personally encouraged me and I know your fellow Troopers too - Let us pray for Libby’s recovery!!"
