Wiregrass Open Horseman’s Association is a member of Alabama Open Horseman’s’ Association which has been hosting the Alabama State Champion Horse Show in Montgomery, Al for the last 29 years. The Alabama State Championship Horse Show is the largest east of the Mississippi river and held annually at Garrett Coliseum on Labor Day weekend.


In order to qualify for the Alabama State Championship Horse Show you must be a member of one of the following saddle clubs: Dothan Boots and Saddle, Southern Cross Ranch and/or Dale County Saddle Club. You must compete in eight WOHA shows, same horse, same rider and same class. WOHA/AOHA offers youth and adult classes in the following: Halter, Showmanship, Western Pleasure, pony, English, Speed Events, using AOHA/AQHA rules/guidelines. Gaited classes are offered in accordance with USDA shoeing regulations.


Here are the show dates for the 2016-2017 show year! So start qualifying now to show at the Alabama State Championship Horse Show Labor Day weekend 2017 in Montgomery, AL.

DCS March 4, 2017- Dale County Saddle


WOHA March 25, 2017- Dale Co Ag Plex


DCS April 1, 2017- Dale Co Saddle Club


SCR April 8, 2017-Southern Cross Ranch


WOHA April 22, 2017-Dale Co Ag Plex


SCR May 6, 2017- Southern Cross Ranch


DBS May 20, 2017- Dothan Boots and Saddle


SCR June 3, 2017-Southern Cross Ranch


DCS June 24, 2017- Dale Co Saddle Club
