ALEA Selected as Finalist in 2015 STAR Award

Montgomery:  The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) was selected as a finalist in the Southern Legislative Conference’s (SLC) annual State Transformation in Action Recognition (STAR) Award program. 


 


The SLC’s STAR Award was developed to identify and promote innovative ideas and programs from the Southern region.  Each year, the SLC showcases success in various states.  ALEA was selected as one of six finalists because of the innovative and strategic thinking during the implementation phase as the state merged and consolidated 12 state-level law enforcement agencies into one agency. 


 


Secretary of Law Enforcement Spencer Collier said, “Since the passage of 2013-67 and throughout the months leading up to full implementation, our team worked tirelessly to ensure a seamless transition.  ALEA is honored to be recognized and selected as a finalist for the distinguished STAR Award.”
