Alford Florida Woman Arrested after Traffic Stop in Jackson County

On June 16, 2014 at approximately 9:15P.M., a deputy with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office performed a traffic stop on a Nissan car on Gardenview Rd in Alford, Florida due to an equipment violation.
During the traffic stop, a Sheriff’s Office K-9 was deployed and alerted on the passenger vehicle. During the search incident to the alert, the deputies were able to locate several items of drug paraphernalia located in a purse in the back passenger floorboard. The purse contained several hypodermic needles, spoons, straws and numerous plastic containers with suspected methamphetamine residue. Also in the purse was (2) counterfeit $10 dollar bills.
The back seat passenger admitted that the items were hers and walked around the vehicle to give a family member a hug before being arrested, where she threw a hypodermic needle containing a liquid substance believed to be methamphetamine away from the scene of the traffic stop. The deputies then took her into custody and transported her to the County Jail without further incident.
