On 9-12-2015, at approximately 8:32 A.M., Jackson County Sheriff's Deputies responded to Elizabeth Lane in reference to a reported stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, Deputies were advised by the victim that her grandson, Chadwick Douglas Brannon, stole her 1996 Mazda B4000 pick up and her Debit/Credit Card. She stated that two charges were made on her card without her permission in Chipley. A few minutes prior to the Deputies arriving, Brannon returned to the residence, driving the stolen vehicle and gave the stolen Debit/Credit Card to her. He advised her that he would do ”yard work” in an attempt to repay the fraudulent charges he made. He then exited the area, leaving in the stolen pick up again. Deputies then located Brannon outside of a residence on Parker Lane, where a resident has an active Injunction for Protection against him. The injunction prohibits Brannon from coming within 500 ft of the residence and he was observed in violation of this court order. At that time Brannon was placed under arrest. When the Deputy conducted a “Pat Search” of Brannon for Officer Safety, a small bag of a crystal like substance was located in his left, front pocket. The substance was field tested for Methamphetamine and displayed a positive result. The vehicle was located near the Parker Lane residence and returned to the victims possession. Brannon was then transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to be housed until First Appearance without further incident.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Brannon is currently on State Probation for Battery.
