ALABAMA: I was amused when I saw this article concerning the investigation of United States Representative Spencer Bachus. This is a federal investigation of Bachus.
I admit, I know nothing about Spencer Bachus. I have never met the man, do not know the man, and have never followed his political life.
What amuses me about the investigation, is his opponent is Alabama Senator Scott Beason. You know the man who wore the tape recorder in the Alabama Bingo Trials. The man that was so excited about tape recording everyone that he went out and bought his own tape recorder. The man that taped his fellow republicans in their own caucus meeting.
Beason was also the man that was so excited about his special secret agent status, he recorded himself and others calling the fine black people and working people of the State of Alabama "aboriginees".
Then, shortly after he qualifies to run against Spencer Bachus, up pops another federal investigation.
I am sure it is just happened. I am sure that Ol'Scott has had nothing to do with this.
And Scott was such a super witness for the so called Washington D.C. Public Integrity Unit in the first trial, their tactical decision this time, is not to call him for a witness.
You can read the article and judge for yourself. But Scott Beason, when you see him, run just as fast as you can the other way. Quickly!
WASHINGTON — A new ethics investigation of the House Financial Services Committee chairman's investment activities during the events leading up to and surrounding Congress' $700 billion bailout of Wall Street sets back lawmakers' election-year efforts to rebound from their record low standing with the public.
Rep. Spencer Bachus, R-Ala., confirmed Friday that he is being investigated by the independent Office of Congressional Ethics. Just a day earlier, the House passed a bill explicitly prohibiting lawmakers from engaging in insider trading on nonpublic information they learned as officeholders.
Beason is one that is needed in Washington. In the bingo trial, it was learned that he is $ 75,000.00 in credit card debt with his only job being a part time Senator.
