Almost a Year Later a Suspect Arrested for Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling

On Friday September 12, 2014 the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received information that Thabit Nadir Mateen was in the Dothan, Alabama area.  After the Dothan Police Department was notified, they arrested Mateen without incident.  


On September 26, 2013 Deputies of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office investigated the shooting into a mobile home on Quarters Court in Campbellton. The mobile home was occupied by a mother and ten children. No one was injured. After the investigation, Mateen was charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling and an arrest warrant was issued. Mateen had eluded capture until his arrest Friday.
