Another Marianna Man Chaged with Resisting Arrest And Drugs

On May 3rd, 2015 at approximately 07:54 a.m., Officers with the Marianna Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a tan Cadillac passenger vehicle on Kelson Ave. after the vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign. During the traffic stop officers determined that the driver who was identified as Andrew Barnes had a suspended license. Once Officers placed Barnes under arrest for the traffic charge, Officers were attempting to search Barnes person and Barnes became uncooperative and began to resist Officers. Officers had to physically restrain Barnes in order to conduct a search of his person and during their search Officers located a small plastic baggy containing cocaine recovered from Barnes sock. Barnes is charged with the above listed charges and was transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility where he will await first appearance.
