Arrest Made for Houston County Courthouse Bomb Threat

On July 26, 2010 the Houston County Sheriff’s Office was notified by Dothan Police Department at approximately 2:15 p.m. of a caller making threats that the Houston County Court House was going to blow up on Thursday (July 29, 2010)


          This was a second call of a bomb threat, the first call occurred early Friday morning (July 23, 2010).


          The Houston County Sheriff’s Office working jointly with Dothan Police Department executed an evacuation of the court house and deployed Dothan Bomb Squad and clearing the court house for any possible devices with the use of Dothan Police Department’s explosive detection K-9 on both dates that the threats were made.


          The Houston County Sheriff’s Office and the Dothan police Department investigated the case and were able to locate a suspect on the July 26th threat and evidence was recovered in connection to the threat.


Jeffery Lee Dozier a 24 year old male of Dothan, Al. was charged with Terrorist Threats and transported to the Houston County Jail and is being held on a no bond.


          The investigation also led to Jeffery Lee Dozier being charged with a separate charge of Burglary 3rd with a $20,000.00 bond.

          The bomb call from Friday July 23rd is still under investigation.
