Arrest Made For Murder In Barbour County

Barbour County Sheriff, LeRoy Upshaw announced the arrest of 45 year old Felecia LaShawn Sanders of 10 Myra Circle Eufaula, AL for the alleged murder of 72 year old Elizabeth "Pool" Sanders. Mrs. Sanders, affectionately known as "Pool" to family and friends was gunned down in the kitchen from a shotgun blast in the early morning hours of October 11, 2013

Sheriff Upshaw along with Investigator, Lt. David Morris had been working non stop gathering evidence to charge Felecia Sanders. Felecia is the daughter in law to the victim. Lt. Morris said it was a total team effort by the deputies of Barbour County when the call came out of a possible shooting.

Lt. Morris said that Sheriff Upshaw worked hands on at the crime scene looking for evidence, interviewing witnesses, possible suspects and staying on top of the investigation until an arrest was made. 

Sheriff Upshaw said that the victim lived in the Springhill Community, a very rural part of Barbour County and investigators had very few leads at the time of the murder. Upshaw stated that that one piece of evidence that investigators look for was discovered and authorized the arrest of Felecia Sanders.

Felecia Sanders was located in Eufaula on Friday January 10th by Lt. Morris and was arrested for murder and transported to the Barbour County Jail. Her bond was set at $300,000.00
