Early this morning the Dothan Police Department made a felony arrest following a robbery. Shortly after 4:00 a.m. an adult female reported to police she had been robbed while walking in the 100 block of West Powell Street. The victim stated the suspect approached from behind and pulled a knife on her while demanding her jewelry. The victim gave police a description of the suspect and the patrolmen did an excellent job of flooding the area to look for the suspect. One of those patrolmen, a nightshift canine officer, located and detained the suspect. The victim identified him as the suspect and an investigator was called to the scene. Police were able to recover the victim’s property and close the case with the arrest of the suspect.

·        Arthur Hooks, black male, 28 years of age, of West Powell Street was arrested and charged with First Degree Robbery with a $60,000 bond.
