Arrest Made in a November Shooting in Jackson County Florida

On 11/23/14 Deputies responded to the 4200 block Allen Street, Greenwood, Florida in reference to a subject being shot. The victim received entry and exit wounds through both of his thighs, which resulted in him being transported to Southeast Medical Center in Alabama. The victim was treated and released from the hospital the same day with minor injuries.
After a brief investigation it was learned that Clay Dewitt Brunson was the subject responsible for the shooting. On 12/02/14 an arrest warrant was signed on Clay D. Brunson.
On 12/02/14 investigators observed Brunson as passenger in a vehicle in the area of Woodberry Road and Wynn Road. An investigative traffic stop was conducted and upon making contacting with the subjects inside, law enforcement confirmed that Brunson was a passenger in the car. Brunson was taken into custody without incident.
Brunson was transported to the Jackson Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
