ARREST MADE IN CHILD ABUSE CASE

At approximately 3:34am on June 18, 2015 the Bonifay Police Department and Holmes County EMS responded to a report of an unresponsive infant on Aretta Street. The five-week-old infant was taken by ambulance to Doctor’s Memorial Hospital. The infant would later be transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center and from there to Shands Hospital in Gainesville.
On June 22, 2015 the infant was reported to have suffered injuries consistent with “shaken baby syndrome” and is undergoing further medical testing and treatment. The Bonifay Police Department has obtained and executed an arrest warrant for Tracey N. Dean, a white female, 23 years-of-age from Bonifay. Dean has been charged with one count of Aggravated Child Abuse (a first degree felony) and was booked into the Holmes County Jail this afternoon with a $35,000.00 bond.
