An Ashford man is charged with domestic violence in connection with the alleged attack on his fiance. Court records show Samuel Mitchell Pittman, 28, of Lucy Grade Road taped the woman's mouth shut and burned her with a cigarette.
It also alleges Pittman slapped the victim in the face and tried to suffocate her during the attack that allegedly occurred Friday.
The couple, according to legal filings, had dated for about 15 months and was engaged for the past 10 months.
Pittman is being held without bail at the Houston County Jail.
