DOTHAN:    This morning Dothan Police were alerted by Dothan Chrysler of a possible scam in relationship to an automobile purchase on Saturday.

As Dothan Police were on the scene of Dothan Chrysler, the person ( suspect ) was located by sales persons of Dothan Chrysler at Lowe’s on the southside of Ross Clark Circle in Dothan.

Dothan Police responded to Lowe’s and took the suspect into custody. Dothan Patrol called for Dothan Criminal Investigation Division to respond. Dothan Investigator Ash responded.

Dothan Police Patrol Officer Moore was in charge of the patrol division investigation.

After Investigator Ash arrived, it was found out the vehicle from Dothan Chrysler was located behind Heard Magnet School in the parking lot.

Dothan Police responded, located the vehicle and recovered the vehicle.

The allegations are the suspect, Warren A. Brown, Jr. bought the vehicle in his dad’s name and it is alleged falsified documents. Both the suspect and his dad have the same name.

Dothan CID had the suspect transported to Dothan Criminal Investigation Division for further investigation.

In 2014 the suspect, Warren A. Brown, Jr. was arrested by Dothan Police on six counts of Possession of Forged Instrument. Those cases arise from allegations of checks written on Wells Fargo Bank in the name of a non-existing company and/or bank account.

In 2013 the suspect, Warren A. Brown, Jr. was arrested by Houston County Sheriff Department on one count of Theft By Deception. The allegations are, in a planned out scheme, the defendant took $ 34,000.00. That case is pending in court also.

The 2013 arrest the defendant gave a Houston County address. In 2014 the suspect gave an Alex City Alabama address. There are outstanding arrest warrants in Alex City but they refuse to come to Houston County and pick the defendant up.

PLEASE NOTE;   The suspect is Warren A. Brown, Jr. His dad is Senior and no evidence, to our knowledge, he is involved and we want to make that clear.

The vehicle from Dothan Chrysler has been recovered.

Dothan Police continue their investigation. It is possible the Twentieth Judicial Circuit District Attorney Office will file to have existing bonds revoked on pending charges.
