Baby Jude Update

Baby Jude update:

We have learned that, in addition to his airway severely collapsing, Jude has a major artery that is compressed against his trachea. We are waiting for the lung surgeon to hold a meeting along with several other specialty surgeons, at which point we will know what the options are from this point forward. We know that he will require major surgery to correct both the artery and his collapsing airways leading into his lungs, but we will not know the exact plan... until the first of the week. In the meantime, he will remain in the intensive care unit on life support.

After being completely out of it all day yesterday, he seems to be more alert today and we were able to share a few smiles together this afternoon. We pray for wisdom on the part of the surgical team, and that Baby Jude would safely survive whatever comes from this point forward. He has already been through so much, and the thought of these major surgeries that he will soon be undergoing is extremely hard to process. We have faith that God is completely in control and we pray for His peace and protection continuously. I cannot describe the sense of security afforded by His almighty hand. It doesn’t always take away the pain; but remembering that God has a plan and a purpose in Baby Jude’s life makes the moments of pain bearable as we remember that there is a reason for all of this, though we cannot fully see the reason right now.

We will continue to lean on Him as Baby Jude rests in His arms. Please continue to pray with us! We will let you know when we hear what the specific options are from here as we move forward in this fight for Baby Jude’s precious life. ‪#‎PrayersForBabyJude‬
