Barbour County S.O. Solves Rash of Burglaries

Sheriff LeRoy Upshaw announced the arrest of three persons in connection with the rash of burglaries in the Rocky Mount community.
Sheriff Upshaw said that the investigation has been on going for nearly three weeks and that the investigation has involved the span of three different counties and four different law enforcement agencies. He also stated that some of the items taken in the burglaries have been recovered and more are expected to be recovered before the investigation is completed.
Investigator Sgt. David Morris assigned to the investigation stated that the following people have been arrested.
Montreon Terrell Paige B/M 18 years old of 26 Power Ln. Eufaula was charged with 2 counts of Burglary 3rd degree, 2 counts of Theft Of Property 2nd degree, and 2 counts of Criminal Mischief 2nd degree and is currently in the Barbour County Jail with bonds totalling $40,000.00.
One juvenile was arrested and charged with the same charges. Another juvenile was arrested and charged with 1 count of Burglary 3rd degree, 1 count of Theft Of Property 2nd degree, and 1 count of Criminal Mischief 2nd degree and is currently being housed in the Southeast Alabama Diversion Center in Dothan.
Sgt. Morris further stated that more arrests are expected, and individuals in Pittsview, Phenix City, and Hurtsboro will be charged with Receiving Stolen Property 2nd degree.
Sheriff Upshaw stated his appreciation to Eufaula Police Department, Russell County Sheriff’s Office, Phenix City Police Department and Dothan Police Department for their assistance in the investigation.
