Samson, AL: The Samson City Council voted last Tuesday at the regular meeting for an ordinance to be passed concerning basketball goals. Some Samson Citizens have approached the Samson City Council about basketball goals being in the streets or near the streets and kids are playing in the streets. The Citizens are worried that some kids may be hit by a vehicle if this Ordinance is not passed. The Ordinance did pass. According to the Ordinance, if you are caught with a basketball goal next to the street (in the right of way), you will be given a written warning asking you to remove the goal within 24 hours. If you fail to move the basketball goal within 24 hours, the goal will become the City of Samson's Property and they will come pick it up. You will have to pay a fine in order to get the goal back.
