Dothan, Al. – When 16-year-old, Bernardo Solorio, who has Acute lymphoid leukemia, wished for a shopping spree he wanted it to be an experience he could share with those who mean the most to him…his family.
This Saturday, Bernardo’s wish will be a reality.
Bernardo will be shopping at all his favorite stores inside the Wiregrass Commons Mall in Dothan.
“This is a young man who views the real wish here…as spending time with his family,” Make-A-Wish® Alabama President and CEO, Pam Jones, said. “Yes, Bernardo is getting an incredible shopping spree, but to be able to have a day with his mom and dad and siblings that isn’t focused around a hospital visit or medical treatment…that’s the real wish come true.”
After checking out with all his bags of new goodies, Bernardo and his family will be dining at Bernardo’s favorite restaurant, Red Lobster.
The Red Lobster, located at 3116 Montgomery Hwy, which is across from the Wiregrass Commons Mall, has invited the media to join in on the fun and to help celebrate Bernardo’s wish come true!
“This is his special day from Red Lobster and our crew,” Red Lobster Manager, Lisa Helms, said. “His wish is our command.”
Helms says Red Lobster is super excited to host the event and will be donning banners and balloons for Bernardo and his family. She calls it a small token to help make the day forever special.
“Live every day to the fullest,” she said. “Because you never know what’s going to happen tomorrow.”
Join Make-A-Wish Alabama and Red Lobster beginning at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 22, for food, friendship…and one family’s day of celebration!
