Bicyclist Struck and Killed By Vehicle

Okaloosa County, Florida: This afternoon at around 12:15 Okaloosa County Emergency Units responded to a fatal crash on State Road 189. The crash report shows that a 2001 Toyota was traveling North on State Road 189. The bicyclist was also traveling North on State Road 189, but on the shoulder. For unknown reasons, the Toyota drifted to the sode of the roadway and struck the bicyclist. The bicyclist did die as a result of his injuries. The bicyclist was identified as Rodney L. Snyder, 39, of Crestview, Florida. The driver of the Toyota, William J. Linder, 65, of Shalimar, Florida was not injured in the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
