HOUSTON COUNTY:    Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza had stickers placed on the vehicles of the Houston County Sheriff vehicles... " Blessed Are The Peacemakers, Matthew 5:9".

Today Houston County Commission Chairman Mark Culver and Houston County Commission Administrator Bill Dempsey instructed Sheriff Valenza to remove the stickers.

Now their buss words will be... we did not instruct the Sheriff to remove the stickers, only recommended him to remove the stickers. Well, the Chairman and Administrator told the Sheriff that if he did not follow their recommendation then any legal fees associated would be the responsibility of the Sheriff personally.

Sheriff Valenza instructed the command staff to remove the stiickers.

The vehicle assigned to the Sheriff Department are owned by the Houston County Commission. The vehicles are assigned to the Sheriff Department.

The stickers were of no cost to Houston County.

The reason for the stickers, over the 35 years Donald Valenza has been with the Houston County Sheriff Department, two deputies have died by taking their own lives. Sheriff Valenza wanted a reminder to the deputies of the reason they are deputies... Blessed Are The Peacemakers. He wanted a reminder to the deputies when they walked out to get into the patrol vehicle.

The Sheriff offered to remove the reference to Matthew 5:9. NO, Chairman Culver and Administrator Dempsey refused that offer.

In fact they basically threw Sheriff Valenza in front of the freight train.

A recent radical group wrote letters threatening Houston County if the verses were not removed they would file a lawsuit. And then some foolish federal judge would penalize for the stickers.

So, Houston County Commission Chairman Mark Culver and Admnistrator Bill Dempsey, well they kinda like Peter... when Jesus said Peter you will deny me three times before the rooster crows...

CULVER: DEMPSEY:  Deny, Deny, Deny

I wonder the words: Well done they faithful servant ???
