Body Disovered in a Woodline in Okaloosa County

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide involving a young black male whose body was discovered along the wood line on State Road 85 south of Duke Field Wednesday morning.
The agency received a 9-1-1 call at 7:36 a.m. from a motorist who spotted the body as they drove southbound.
A positive identification is pending, along with notification of next of kin. The Okaloosa-Walton Medical Examiner’s Office will be conducting an autopsy. Additional information will be released at the appropriate time.
