Bond Hearing On Murder Case Tuesday In Dale County

DALE COUNTY:    Attorney Billy Joe Sheffield has been hired in the representation of James Lee Yeaple in Dale County District Court.


Yeaple was arrested by Lt. Culbreth of Ozark Police in the 2015 murder of Devon Neal Wilet. Yeaple was not arrested until July 8, 2016.


Reports are Wilet was found in his apartment of a gunshot wound. He later died at a hospital.


Dale County District Court Judge Stan Garner went above the Alabama Supreme Court bond schedule in setting an initial bond for Yeaple. Judge Garner set a $ 200,000.00 cash bond.


Defense Attorney Billy Joe Sheffield filed motions for a bond hearing in an effort to reduce the bond to the parameters established by the Alabama Supreme Court and to allow a professional bondsman to make the bond.


The hearing has been set for 1:30 PM CENTRAL STANDARD TIME at the Dale County Courthouse.
