BUSINESS BURGLARY INVESTIGATION LEADS TO ARREST OF EMPLOYE
The Bonifay Police Department began an investigation into the burglary and theft from a local business on November 11th that has led to felony charges against an employee of the business. The initial report to law enforcement was the theft of currency from a money bag used at a satellite store. The business owner informed officers that he had recently experienced additional shortages from both the register other transactions. It was determined an employee was likely the culprit, due to no forced entry at the business. Additional evidence was located by the owner, which led to the identification of a suspect. The suspect, identified as Kara R. Justice (W/F 27 yoa) of Bonifay admitted her involvement to officers. Justice was arrested on November 13th and transported to the Holmes County Jail on charges of burglary of a structure (two counts), petit theft (two counts) and providing false information to a law enforcement officer (one count).
SUSPECTED STOLEN PROPERTY FOUND IN WOODED AREA
The Bonifay Police Department has recently taken possession of approximately “three truck loads” of suspected stolen property. This property was located in a wooded area near the southeast portion of the city limits. Surrounding law enforcement agencies have not been able to locate any reports listing this property as stolen. It appears that this property may have been taken from some type of storage facility and consists of various types of property.
