Max Bozeman, Jr. of Elbawas inducted into the Alabama Livestock Hall of Fame on February 21 at the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association Annual Convention and Trade Show in Huntsville.Bozeman is a fulltime cattle producer from Coffee County who grew up on a diversified family farm in Crenshaw County. Max received a BS degree from Troy State University in 1975 and brought a farm in Coffee County that same year.
Max is extremely active in leadership positions with the beef cattle industry in Alabama. He has served as president of the Alabama Cattleman’s Association, president of the Alabama BCIA, on the Alabama Farmers Federation state beef committee, chairman of the Coffee County bull sale committee and is past president of the Coffee County Cattlemen’s Association. Max currently serves on the Southeastern Livestock Exposition Board of Directors and has been appointed as Alabama’s Beef Director to the Cattlemen’s Beef Board.
Max and wife Kathy, a registered nurse, have two sons – Steve, an appraiser with the Federal Land Bank and Charles, a businessman in Birmingham.
The Alabama Livestock Hall of Fame was created by the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association and the Southeastern Livestock Exposition in 1981 to recognize individuals who made significant contributions to the states livestock industry. The wall of fame is displayed in the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association building in Montgomery, AL.
