HOUSTON COUNTY: On DothanFirst ( WDHN ) Houston County Commissioner Brandon Shoupe held a press statement concerning new radios for Houston County Volunteer Fire and Houston County Volunteer Rescue.
In the statement Commissioner Shoupe told the public that by purchasing the radios from Seminole Communications that Houston County would save $ 14,421.00.
Houston County Sheriff Department is purchasing the equipment and towers from a Opp vendor.
Shoupe gives the appearance that he has worked on this deal and is responsible for the savings.
SEMINOLE COMMUNICATIONS - DOTHAN ALABAMA
Great folks. Have great things to say about the owners. And nothing in this article is about Seminole Communications. It is about Houston County Commissioner Brandon Shoupe having the true and accurate facts and giving those true and accurate facts to the public.
The savings is a rebate given from Kenwood, the manufacturer of the radio. Both the Dothan and the Opp vendor gets those savings. However Shoupe only deducted the factory rebate from the Seminole Communications price and not the Opp vendor price.
So in realty, Shoupe said $ 14,421.00 savings when in reality the savings is less than $ 700.00.
So Brandon when you want to run out and look like a big boy and break your arm patting yourself on the shoulder, first, have accurate information. Know what you are talking about. And be accurate.
Next Brandon, make sure your fellow Houston County Commissioners are aware of what you are saying. Without two other votes Brandon, you can not even pass a motion to adjourn a meeting.
The other commissioners were not aware of the Brandon Shoupe plan or his press conference. And Shoupe’s information is based on false and inaccurate information.
The Sheriff Department is going with the Opp vendor because of tower installation and the system operation..
Seminole Communication is providing radios and installation, if the plan goes through.
WHERE HAS BRANDON BEEN
The Houston County Volunteer Fire Chief’s meet each month. At most of those meetings I am there.
I have never seen Brandon Shoupe at the Houston County Volunteer Fire Chief’s Meetings. And he has not been in any of the meetings with the vendors and fire chief’s that have been held at the Houston County Sheriff Department or Houston County Volunteer Fire Chief Association Meetings.
There are no issues with Seminole Communications. And I am happy they get work.
What I am unhappy about is Brandon putting misinformation out there that he has no idea of what he is talking about.
And Brandon is to "pretty" is attend to the volunteer Fire Chief's Meetings.
