DOTHAN: A Dothan Police Officer on patrol spotted a gold impala on the Circle that was pulling out in front of other cars. The officer got behind the car and lit it up. The driver pulled over and as the officer was getting out of his vehicle, the driver took off. The officer went after him but lost him in traffic.
Most likely due to other drivers not getting out of the way, like that wouldn't happen. The officer called off the chase and within a few minutes, a wreck call came out over the radio on the Circle in front of South Side McDonalds.
The driver of the gold impala has struck another vehicle in the rear-end disabling his vehicle and the driver bailed. Police searched the area but didn't find the suspect. It's still not clear why the driver took off to start with. No one was injured in the wreck but two vehicles were damaged and one had to be towed along with the suspect vehicle.
