GENEVA, AL: Geneva County E-911 Dispatchers dispatched Geneva Fire, Rescue, and Police to a single vehicle rollover on East County Road 4. The crash involved a 1997 black Ford Explorer. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and thrown approximately 80 feet. The driver was reported to have not been breathing at one time, but started back breathing. The vehicle rolled at least 3 times.
It is reported that the wife of the subject is the one who drove up on the wreck. Geneva Rescue arrived on the scene and started treating the patient. AirHeart was notified to respond to Wiregrass Medical Center. AirHeart originally had a 21 minute ETA, but was then pushed back because they had too refuel the helicopter before takeoff.
Geneva Rescue cancelled AirHeart due to the long ETA time, and ran Emergency Traffic to Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL. The driver is reported to have sustained major injuries from the crash. Alabama State Trooper Darren Pert was on the scene investigating the cause of the crash.
