Ozark: We are receiving reports that two people have been shot in Ozark. One person was shot in the hand and another person was shot in the leg in two different location on Ozark. Police are the scene in both shootings, neither one of the injuries are reported to be life threatening.
We will update when we find out more information, we have a call into Chief Spivey at this time.

Law enforcement officers from Ozark PD, Dale Co. Sheriffs, AL State Troopers and Wiregrass Violent Crimes Task Force are out the the scene on McDonald Avenue. The other victim was walking up Andres Ave when Officers stopped him. Both wounds are considered to be minor injuries.

Today shortly before the noon hour Ozark Police were dispatched to the area of McDonald Avenue regarding a possible gunshot assault. The investigation is in the preliminary stages, but two victims received non-life threatening gunshot wounds. One victim received a gunshot wound to the hand and the other victim sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. Both victims were treated at Dale Medical Center with one victim being released following treatment. At this point of the investigation neither victim is forthcoming with any information concerning what occurred. Based on the evidence at the scene investigators are of the opinion at this point that both victims were shot at a McDonald Avenue residence. Thus far no suspects or motive have been established.
As the investigation continues and additional information is obtained, the information will be released.
Ozark Police are being assisted in the investigation by the Wiregrass Violent Crimes and Drug Task Force, Alabama State Troopers and the Dale County Sheriff’s Department.
