Geneva County, AL: Geneva Police Department, Alabama Game Warden, Geneva County Sheriff's Office, and Samson Police Department has just been involved in a high speed pursuit. The suspect was reported to have taken Goat Hill Road in Geneva, where he then turned on to Caldwell Road in Samson. The vehicle chase ended behind Brooks Peanut Company in Samson in a field. Geneva Police, Samson Police, and an Alabama Game Warden were then involved in a foot pursuit that did not last very long. At this time, it is unknown why the suspect ran. The suspect was transported to Wiregrass Medical Center to recieve treatment from injuries he sustained in both pursuits. The suspect's name has not yet been released. A Geneva Police Patrol Car was damaged in the chase due to it catching on fire. The grass underneath the car was reported to have caught on fire, then caused the car to become damaged. The patrol car was not a total loss. Officer Jeff Moring with the Samson Police Department was there with his partner, Officer K-9 Cass. Officer Cass did conduct what appeared to be a search for any evidence. Samson Volunteer Rescue was dispatched to transport the suspect. Pictures will be uploaded soon.
