COFFEE COUNTY: Coffee County Emergency Services are on the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Highway 84 just outside of Elba. Reports are a SUV and Log truck collided with the SUV being t-boned by the loaded log truck.
The driver of the car is dead on the scene. A child was injured and transported emergency to Enterprise Medical Center in serious critical.
Elba Rescue and Fire are on the scene. Will update as soon as more information is available.

At approximately 10:17 A.M. Elba Police Department responded to a two vehicle accident located on East Davis St. Upon arrival it was determined that a 2000 Peterbilt driven by Matthew Parrott of Live Oak Florida collided with a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee . The driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger of the Jeep was transported to Medical Center Enterprise by Coffee County EMS. The passenger was later transferred to Southeast Alabama Medical Center and is listed in critical condition. The names of the occupants of the Jeep are being held pending notification of family. The accident is under investigation by Elba Police Department with the assistance of Alabama Department of Public Safety and the 12th Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s office.
