UPDATED at 2:47 PM :BREAKING NEWS: Motor Vehicle Accident With Fatality

HOUSTON COUNTY: At 1:35 PM Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched emergency units to a motor vehicle accident with entrappment on County Road 22 near J.D. Love Road intersection.

Columbia Police were the first law enforcement on the scene. It was confirmed there was a fatality in the accident.

Alabama Department of Law Enforcement - Trooper Division, Webb Police, Houston County Sheriff Deputies, Webb and Columbia Volunteer Fire and Pilcher's Ambulance responded. Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd has been called to the scene.

Matt Boster has responded for RSN. Scene pictures are being held until family is notified.

Alabama Department of Law Enforcement - Troper Division - is in charge of accident investigation.

It was a single vehicle accident, The cooner has arrived on scene. All we know right now is the driver was the only one in the vehicle.

The deceased has been identified has 80 year old Robert Crosby of Columbia, Alabama. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
